We spoke to Fernando, who like other traders, spoke fondly of the market. His memories all conveyed a strong sense of community the market provided for the area; the space was like home.
The closure of the market greatly altered his business structure; El Dorado used to be spread across seven different units within the indoor market and now is within one space next to Merca Express Latino (the Colombian grocery store).
Fernando also communicated his frustration that the market is closed, not only because of the impact on his restaurant but also because of how it impacted the whole of the community; it is more difficult to gather people together and interact as all the traders are spread out across Seven Sisters.
When questioned about the temporary market, he was skeptical whether it would ever be put into effect, nonetheless, he believes that other traders would be interested if something like that would be set up.
