We could only speak briefly with the people within the Mercado but they did not hesitate to express the importance the market had on their business and their social lives. 

The atmosphere has completely altered, more people would have stayed to chat but now walk in with a purpose. However, we are fortunate that El Dorado is next door, most of the other traders are spread out, which only increases the lack of atmosphere.
