“Our aim is to re-energise and excite the community for the campaign.  We hope to create understanding of the project for the community and the relationship between the Latin Village and TFL.”

We are a group of students exploring how to re-energise and excite Tottenham's Seven Sisters community for Ward’s Corner Market/Latin Village/Seven Sister’s Indoor Market.

The Market has been closed for the last 5 years threatening the local culture of the surrounding area. Nonetheless, Seven Sisters remains vibrant, culturally diverse, and rich in identity.

Our goal is to understand this strong community and reinvigorate their excitement for the market and ultimately push for the reopening of the market.

TFL has been working on refurbishing the site since it was deemed unsafe. They have promised a temporary market to aid the traders that were locally displaced from the market - due to open this Spring (2024).

While we are not part of this community, we understand the value and importance the market had for the local people and the frustration they face now that their cultural hub is no more.

This is why we hope to re-stimulate the community by translating their stories and passions into stickers that will spread through London.

These stickers aim to visually convey the importance of the market, to spread the vibrancy of the community of Seven Sisters to the wider public of London. The customized QR codes lead to stories of business traders. We hope these stickers reach the wider community around Tottenham and beyond, to raise awareness, re-new hope towards the campaign, and ensure the communities’ voice is heard.
